Minors in Music is a music education program that promotes academic success and continues the legacy of The Minor Key, the television show created by Art Porter Sr. to spotlight talented Arkansans. Through workshops, mentorship with professional musicians, and community service, the program provides customized training for aspiring artists. Art Porter Music Education offers this free workshop to inspire young talent and encourages graduates to donate their time and talents by performing at 1–2 events each year, including A Work of Art and For the Love of Art. These performances showcase the program’s impact while giving back to the community that supports it. By using music as a community-building tool, Minors in Music instills an early appreciation for giving, developing skills and connections that empower and unite.
